Device manufacturers in various fields such as mobile phones, navigation, PMPs and IPTV STBs are all showing a great deal of interest recently in 3D contents and 3D UI. The navigation industry in particular is exhibiting a general trend of a shift from 2D to 3D applications, providing a huge increase in demand for 3D engines.
The IPTV industry, which started world wide services in 2008, is also looking to provide high quality 3D contents among its various services.
In order to do this, the set top boxes must be equipped with optimized 3D enignes, providing even more demand for the engine.
