E3net(www.e3net.co.kr) has displayed the STB 3D engine named ‘E3Di engine’ for IPTV.
This product enables high distinctness of 3D graphic by attaching with the STB, and enhances the speed of the GPU. The testing of this technique has already been completed by partnering with a global chipset company.
In the past, the restriction of the STB has made it hard to embody realistic 3D. So, E3Di engine has proved that brilliant 3D experience is possible on IPTV for the first time in Korea.
E3Di engine provides fast handling speed and high distinctness of 3D graphic on a device that has 3D GPU attached. Especially, it is possible to optimize on various devices without depending on that device. The E3DI engine can express 2D and 3D at the same time and it makes it possible to embody 2D pont on a 3D atmosphere. This results in providing high usefulness to directing IPTV user interface.
E3Di engine provides various SDK that is friendly with the users and this ends in giving a great amount of usability in developing contents related to the engine. Especially the UI editor is specialized in making game and UI.
To sum up, the E3Di engine enables the users of the IPTV to not only enjoy the simple image but also experience enhanced 3D games. Also, two-way data broadcasting and splendid UI experience is possible.

“ With the help of E3Di engine, it will be possible to experience a splendid 3D world”
“ In the future, the demand of entertainment on IPTV will grow” , says president Seong Young Sook. “ And the center of this phenomenon will be realistic 3D games” This is the reason why the company developed the E3Di engine, an engine that is in charge of embodying 3D in the form of internal application on the STB.
The message from the president continues. “ We are planning to supply E3Di engine SDK to domestic game producers. And after we develop various games, we are willing to serve it to domestic/ global IPTV business groups. Games that are for TV will be able to run on the PC also, and that will result in IPTV/PC interlocked playing service.”
After the service in Korea is good enough, E3net is planning to export their games and engine. “ We are focusing on the UK and France market” says the president.
